Burgundy is different, and even I can sometimes appreciate a fine Bordeaux. But too often the wines lack flavour and distinctive character. In fact, only last night I had open a Louis Jadot Beaujolais Villages and a Te Mata Estate Gamay (from NZ - Waitrose occasionally have it). Both were 2008s but the Te Mata was fresher, a bit spicier, not as heavy as the Jadot.

GilesGileshttp://www.gilesallison.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5493891423071521124.post-43173258661568394582010-11-08T20:36:40.247+00:002010-11-08T20:36:40.247+00:00hmmm I dont think anything half good from 2009 Bor...hmmm I dont think anything half good from 2009 Bordeaux will be drinking for a while yet. I wonder what makes a good Bergerac? The big mark down of such a raved about year says it all IMHO.

duncAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
