This is a good example of what Tesco is doing right these days. A good red Bordeaux from an excellent vintage at a fantastic price. This was a half-price deal, and I was impressed enough to buy a case of 6.
Made from mostly Merlot (with a bit of Cabernet Franc), this wine is from the right bank Bordeaux commune Lalande-de-Pomerol. It has a sharp, red-berry nose and a dry, grippy finish. It's very much a food wine however.
I'm not sure I'd pay £15 for it because I'm cheap, but at half price it's a steal.
