Tesco Finest Fiano 2007

This wine was getting pretty good reviews from the press, so I decided to give it a try. I'm always on the lookout for a good dry Italian white, something alternative to the lakes of boring Pinot Grigio out there.

Fiano is the grape variety here, and it is probably more well known as coming from the Campania region, but in this case it's from Sicily. It is indeed a nice wine, with crisp apple flavours and a slightly sugary (but not sweet) finish. It's quite flavoursome, and I think it would be a good one to sip on its own.
