This wine doesn't come from the Rhone, however. It comes from Roussillon, the region in the south of France just bordering Spain. A blend of Syrah and Grenache, this is a smooth, very pleasant red wine, and a bargain on offer at £5.99. It's just a great example of a affordable, good quality French red. Subtle and pleasing, and above all, delicious. This is the sort of wine deal that I am always on the lookout for, and the sort of wine that that I would gladly have on my table anytime.

Hi, I agree with your comments and would suggest you try Vina Fuerte old vine grenache from Waitrose. It's another crowd pleaser at £5.50 (as I remember)
ReplyDeleteHi Longshot...thanks for the tip, I'm always looking for a bargain. I will see if my local Waitrose has it this weekend...:-)
