Araldica La Monetta Gavi 2008

This is probably one of the better Italian whites you can get for under a tenner. Made by the Piemontese co-op Araldica, this is a characterful, refreshing wine with strong notes of pear and citrus.

It was £6.69 with 25% off, and was worth every penny, but I am hesitant to say I would pay full price. Although nice, it's not a complex wine. It is however a step above their cheaper "La Luciana" bottling. This is a bit more flavourful, and was just the ticket on a hot day with a pasta/olive oil dish.
