If you like Gewurztraminer, or have been meaning to try it, then you won't get a better deal that this. Available for just over £5 (or £4.97 online), this is a great example of this variety. No notes to share really, except to say it impressed the (sometimes fussy) female drinkers, which is good enough for me.

It costs twice that here and I just bought a bottle.. reckon it was worth it? :)
ReplyDeleteIn Norway? I wouldn't know I guess, but I've had French Gewurztraminer almost twice this price that wasn't any better, so the answer is probably 'yes'..:-)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely yes - it turned out to be yummy! ;)
ReplyDeleteWife and I shared one of these tonight - yes, a 3, but it was more bitter/acidic than I was expecting and lacking the more complex floral quality of an Alsace wine.
ReplyDeleteI also bought some of the other Waitrose wines you've given a 3 - Vidal Syrah, Felsner Moosburgerin and the Brown Brothers Tarrango, which I wouldn't have picked up if I'd remembered it's to be drunk chilled...
