Aegerter 'Vieilles Vignes' Savigny-Les-Beaune 2005

Another Random Aussie Bloke purchase. This time from Calais. He reckons it was around €30.

For a Pinot Noir, it tastes absolutely nothing like the stuff I've had recently. On the other hand, I'm not really sure it tastes like Pinot Noir. It was rich, deep coloured, and smelled and tasted exclusively like sour cherries. It was delicious.

A good reminder of what's available from Burgundy when you spend a bit extra. OK maybe a lot extra...
